Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by your licensed Bhutanese guide. After completing arrival formalities, you will drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city, through beautiful river valleys alongside the Paro Chhu and Wang Chhu.

Once in Thimphu, you will visit the Memorial Chorten, a revered structure built in memory of His Majesty the Third King and an important place of daily worship for locals. Later, enjoy a relaxed walk around Thimphu city, exploring small markets and handicraft shops that reflect Bhutan’s vibrant culture and traditional lifestyles.

After breakfast, your day begins with sightseeing in Thimphu. You will visit the impressive Buddha Dordenma Statue, one of the largest seated Buddha statues in the world, offering panoramic views of the entire valley. The tour then continues to Tashichho Dzong, an architectural masterpiece that houses Bhutan’s central government offices and monastic body. You will also visit the National Institute for Zorig Chusum, where students are trained in Bhutan’s traditional thirteen arts and crafts, giving you insight into the country’s artistic heritage.

In the afternoon, you will drive toward Punakha, crossing the scenic Dochula Pass at an altitude of 3,100 meters. On a clear day, the pass offers stunning views of the snow‑capped Himalayan ranges, along with a visit to the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens. Descending into the Punakha Valley, known for its pleasant climate and fertile landscape, you will check into your hotel for the night.

Following breakfast, you will explore the cultural highlights of Punakha. The main attraction is Punakha Dzong, also known as the Palace of Great Happiness. Situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, this magnificent fortress monastery is one of Bhutan’s most beautiful and historically significant dzongs. Later, you will visit Chimi Lhakhang, famously known as the Fertility Temple, dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kunley, the Divine Madman. Today marks the highlight of your Bhutan tour. After breakfast, you will embark on a memorable hike to Taktsang Monastery, popularly known as the Tiger’s Nest. This iconic monastery is dramatically perched on a cliff at an altitude of 3,120 meters and is one of Bhutan’s most sacred sites. The round‑trip hike takes approximately four to five hours at a comfortable pace and rewards you with breathtaking views and a deeply spiritual experience.
After returning from the hike, you will visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan, believed to have been built in the 7th century. Later, you may explore Paro town, visit local shops, or simply relax and reflect on your journey. You will spend your final night in Paro.
